In honor of 20 years of impact and growth in the Latino – Nevada research center today

For two decades, Latin Research Center (LRC) at the University of Nevada, Renault, has been a driving force to enhance research efforts, support students’ achievements and strengthen the intercession and scope with the Latin American community. Through its mission to serve as a link between the university and the community, LRC supports the problems that vital to the Latin American communities of Nevada. Now, as the center is looking at the future, a bold commitment is being made to harden its impact through a fundraising campaign – continuous growth and resilience.

One of the most visible signs of this fundraising impulse is the vital mural that is currently underway in Edmund J. Cain Hall, home of LRC. Created to reflect the stability, contribution and rich heritage of Latin Americans in Nevada, the mural embodies the spirit of the mission of the center. This powerful work of art would not be possible without the generosity of the community, such as NV Energy Foundation, Corwin Buick GMC, James and Diana Sande, Coulgaus Corazón Foundation, Ron Aryel and Stacey Knobler, Ivet Conteras, J Moreno and Robert Glenn. Their contribution helped to revive this vision, creating a lasting tribute to the community’s heritage.

The further hardening of the future of LRC is the creation of a donation for their longtime La Promesa [The Promise] A reward recognizing a graduate student who has significantly influenced the community and will pursue a postgraduate. This prestigious award provided significant support to students in their academic activities. As a donation, such as the support of Janet User, a doctor of science, this contribution will seek funds to match the $ 7500 Community coincidence over the next four years. LRC, on behalf of the University of Nevada, Renault expresses a deep gratitude for this transformative gift, which guarantees that the promise of educational empowerment remains strong for the next generations.

As the LRC marks this cornerstone, it invites the community to celebrate, contribute and be part of its lasting heritage. With the support of donors, students and defenders, the next 20 years promise to be even more influential.
