Immigration executive orders have Baton Rouge agencies adapting to new policies – WBRZ

Baton Rouge – agencies across the country are working to change their policies to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive orders. The Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge, which supports immigrants, adapts to the new provisions.

Stephanie Sterling, CEO of Catholic Charity Organizations for the Diocese of Baton Rouge, says they strive to keep up with new policies and plan to take any steps to accommodate them.

“It has come suddenly and now we are collaborating with the Conference of the Catholic Bishops of the United States and our network of Catholic charity organizations in the United States to deal with these changes,” Sterling said.

She notes that they are preparing for adjustments, but guaranteeing that their customers remain in line with federal policies is currently a challenge.

“Some of the actions were quickly betrayed. We continue to appreciate what this means to the community and we plan accordingly. That is why we participate in as many calls and meetings as possible,” Sterling said.

Sterling mentioned that they figure out how to complete new orders while providing the best possible service.
