The IEHP Foundation has just allocated $ 2.3 million in Non-Profit Grates Grates in the San Bernardino and Riverside area, part of a wider two-year investment of $ 4.6 million through its founding CHAMPIONS FOR VIBRANT HEALTH Leadership Network. The program, which is implemented from 2025 to 2026, aims to strengthen organizational infrastructure and develop leadership in Community -based organizations (CBO) aimed at social determinants of health.
Selected non -profit organizations include Catholic charity organizations in Riverside and San Bernardino, Mary’s Mercy Center, Never Stop Grinding Impact and Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance. These organizations will receive unlimited funding, which allows them to allocate resources based on their unique needs, such as staff, technology and capital improvements.
Investing in Community needs
Unlimited funding offers non -profit organizations to deal with operating gaps and invest in their long -term sustainability. IEHP Foundation CEO Greg Bradbard explained: “We invest not only in the mission of these organizations, but also in the leadership that will shape the future of the region. Non-profit organizations know their communities best and need the freedom to allocate funds where they have the greatest impact. “
The grants were granted on the basis of the foundation’s focus on vital conditions, including humane housing, access to basic needs, meaningful work and wealth and lifelong learning. Organizations with an annual budget of less than $ 1 million will receive $ 50,000 in two years, while those with budgets over $ 1 million will receive up to $ 130,000.
Some organizations plan to use grants, including hiring additional staff and creating growth positions to improve their capacity and serve more customers. Others have emphasized the need for technological improvements, such as new software and computers, to rationalize their work. “For most organizations, this was not just one thing,” Bradbard said. “Funding will support many projects, allowing them to achieve different goals and to strengthen their impact in the community.”
Empowering local leaders
Leadership Network also provides three -month training sessions and two multi -day retreats focused on skills such as communication, strategic thinking, continuity planning and team building. The emerging leaders from each organization will participate with the executive leaders to establish a group of future directors.
Carolyn Fahardo, CEO of Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino, emphasized the potential for cooperation of the program. “This opportunity will improve our ability to cooperate effectively and to create lasting, positive impacts for the communities we serve.” Partnerships.
Darius Harris, CEO of Never Stop Grinding Impact, said the funding would help create a public center in Rialto at 898 Rialto Avenue. The Center will offer programs for college and career preparation, training, gang intervention initiatives, boxing program and more. Harris added: “The skills they teach us through Leadership Network are imperative about how to manage our organizations more efficiently. Paying you to learn how to manage an organization better is an incredible and true blessing. “
The second part of the financing of the Never Stop Grinding Impact will support the 2025 annual holiday campaigns, including the distribution of turkeys and the distribution of toys. In 2024, the organization provided over 1000 turkeys and distributed more than 3,500 toys to families in need.
Dealing with justice in healthcare
San Bernardino, a region with significant differences in healthcare, can greatly benefit from this initiative. The IEHP Foundation has given a priority to non -profit organizations serving vulnerable population groups, including low -income families, colorful communities and rural areas. “We are aware that local non -profit organizations are well positioned as trusted envoys to the communities they serve,” Bradbard said.
The participating organizations will also contribute to the intercession of policy through travel to Sacramento, enhancing the needs of the region for state -level health care initiatives.
The IEHP Foundation’s commitment extends beyond financial support. By dealing with social determinants of health, the initiative aims to create an environment that promotes physical and mental well -being. “Healthy neighborhoods are built on a good home, access to nutritious food and spaces that encourage healthy behavior,” Bradbard added.
