BOISE, ID – Snow showers are expected in the higher elevations around Boise on Monday, with up to a 60 percent chance of precipitation in the mountains. The National Weather Service is warning travelers heading through Idaho’s Blue Mountains, where light snow accumulations could create slick conditions early in the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Boise, the snow will mostly affect mountainous regions, including roads above the Blues, and could complicate travel on those routes. Drivers are advised to monitor road conditions and use caution as visibility may be reduced during snowfall. Boise itself will likely see partly cloudy skies with just a light chance of rain, high temperatures reaching around 50°F, and calm winds moving out of the northwest.
Here’s an extended weather forecast for Boise and the surrounding area:
• Tonight: Mostly clear skies with lows around 30°F. The wind will be weak with a northerly direction of 5-8 km/h.
• monday: Partly sunny in low areas with a 20% chance of showers in the morning. Snow is likely in the higher elevations, and high temperatures will reach near 50°F. Wind gusts could reach 20 mph.
• Tuesday: 40% chance of morning rain, then clearing. Highs around 47°F.
• Wednesday: Sunny skies with highs around 46°F. Lows will drop into the mid 20s overnight.
• Thursday: Sunny weather continues with highs around 46°F, lows around 26°F.
Midweek promises clearer skies and cooler temperatures, with highs in the mid-40s expected to continue. Travelers and commuters should be informed of road conditions, especially at higher elevations where snow can make roads dangerous.
