BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) ended its extended closed fire season on Friday.

Now that the closed fire season is over, Idahoans no longer require a burn permit, but are encouraged to voluntarily request a permit or check local fire conditions.
“Please remain vigilant and practice safe burning habits as fire prevention is essential all year round. Anyone who starts a fire is responsible for the fire, which may include liability for damages and the cost of extinguishing a runaway fire,” IDL said.
