Ice agents claim to detain two people in south Larendo – KGNS

Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – A woman at the division Santa Rita says she was scared Wednesday morning, February 12, when she ice agents appeared at her home, looking for a family member. Neighbors say two workers were taken.

The woman lives on a 100 block of Avenue Leon and says about 30 agents knocked at her door, asking them to enter.

The woman said her nephew had come to the United States asking for asylum, but did not do anything wrong, adding that her nephew and his family had already chosen to return to Mexico.

Images show agents holding several individuals in a nearby place.

The woman said two people were taken, but she did not know who they were. “They had nothing to do with it,” she said. “They came to my nephew, but they found them there, so they took them.”

The woman said the situation was alarming. “It’s very sad what we’re going through and yes, it’s scary,” she said.

KGNS reached for ICE for an answer, but has not yet received one.
