Sophomore South Carolina Millia Fulvili shared a birthday greeting for her friend Ja’meesia Ford on Sunday. The Gamecocks track and field athlete, also a sophomore, turned twenty and Fulvily shared a slew of Tiktoks of the two via his Instagram story with special messages.
“Happy birthday my love. I love you so much. I hope you enjoy your day!” she captioned the video.
Earlier this month, Millaisia Fulvili edged out Ja’meesia Ford after she was named the SEC Runner of the Week. The couple met while playing women’s basketball and track and field together in 2023. However, Ford had already caught Fulvilly’s eye during the second week of school.
The South Carolina guard recalled his first impressions of meeting his girlfriend in an interview with The State in October.
“I liked her outfit because she had that ‘school girl’ look to her,” Fulvili said. “She had a skirt and she looked like she was going to class. I had my sweat too.”
Ja’meesia Ford supports Fulvili on and off the court, as she was seen during South Carolina’s heavyweight matchup against LSU on Friday and was the guard date for the April 2024 Gamecock Gala, where both won Freshman of the Year .

In an episode of “Homegrown: Milaysia Fulwiley” on the Gamecocks YouTube channel, the Columbia, South Carolina native said:
“At the end of the day, reputation and your personality is what people remember the most and the most important thing. I’m just trying to become a better version of myself off the court. Basketball is not my whole life.
“I want people to know me as something other than just a basketball player or a hot player. (I want people to know me) as a nice woman or nice or sweet or nice, just something like that.
As a sophomore, Fulvili averaged 11.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 41.2 percent from the floor.
South Carolina is on an incredible run with a 19-1 overall record and remains undefeated in conference play (7-0). The Gamecocks will face No. 17 Tennessee on Monday.
