‘I don’t watch Trash Players’: Gilbert Arenas goes to Andrew Wiggins Mid-Warriors game – The Sportsrush

Gilbert Arenas has built his media persona to be someone who is unfiltered in his photos. While this led to a few fun moments, it also allowed a number of questionable moments to slip through the cracks. His comments during today’s Warriors-Lakers game about Andrew Wiggins are consistent with the latter.

While watching the Rivals Week game alongside internet personality Legend of Winning, Arenas gave his opinion on Wiggins. As the second quarter approached, he would say:

“Who is this? Number 22, is that Wiggins? I don’t watch trash players man. I only watch the All Stars guy.”

This is obviously a pretty disrespectful remark, especially if it’s thrown at a player while they’re in the middle of a game. Being knee-deep in the NBA media landscape and openly admitting that you only watch the All-Stars isn’t too great of a look either.

Gil is joking a lot, though. This could just be him being sarcastic and calling Wiggins “garbage” to provide a funny look. Even if that were the case, the 2022 champion. far from rubbish.

He is averaging 17 points per game on 38% shooting from beyond the arc, despite what is being considered a “down” year for him. He’s certainly not the secondary offensive star that Stephen Curry needs by his side, but the ’22 Finals are proof that he’s a three-starrd or 4th an option for any team looking to compete for a title.

Of course, Wiggins has yet to respond to Arenas as the Warriors are currently in the middle of their game against the Lakers. The irony here is that he had a solid game tonight, dropping 20 points on over 50% shooting, despite going 1-6 from beyond the arc, leading all Warriors in scoring tonight.

Gill has also expressed no regrets about his decision. It is very rare for experts to admit that they are wrong, or at least that they have taken things too far. That will likely be the case here, regardless of how well Andrew plays.
