Several hundred people turned out at Boise’s March for Life 2025 as speakers applauded Idaho’s tough anti-abortion laws.
One of the speakers, lobbyist Megan Wald, said part of the plan this legislative session will be to promote legislation to “educate medical professionals and the public” about what Idaho’s abortion laws actually mean.
“Today we can say with confidence that there is no state in the United States with more pro-life or pro-life laws than Idaho,” Wald said to applause. “Our work is certainly not done this session.”
Wald said doctors “can and should” treat women in medical emergencies and “in the face of medical uncertainties.”
Idaho doctors said Idaho’s abortion laws are too vague to interpret, according to previous reporting by the Statesman.
In 2022 The US Department of Justice sued the state over its ban. St. Luke’s Health System recently filed a lawsuit over abortion restrictions in the event that President Donald Trump’s administration rejects the Justice Department’s lawsuit, according to the Statesman’s previous report.
