Continuing our series of prognosis for Arizona Diamondbex players, the rookie, who is expected to debut in the 2025 MLB season, Dylan Ray, is appearing. The projection below is a combination of ZIPS and Steamer projections, proportional to our play time projection.
Dylan Ray will participate in Triple with Reno Aces this year, but estimated systems predict that he will make his debut at MLB this year with Diamondbacks. Whether it is as a holder or as an assistant, it remains to be seen, but its potential is paramount to the future headquarters of the team.
Why Ray can surpass the projection
Ray is unknown to MLB teams and players. Often, many recruits are successful in the early stages of their careers while there are not enough data, appearances, and more so that MLB players can adapt to them.
This way, it would not be shocking to see Ray to make the 3-Ish ERA in their first seven or more innings in MLB. This is especially true if Ray comes out of the bull, as his terrains can be improved, as is often the case with pits that leave the bull.
In minors, Ray hit high-speed strikes, as can be seen above, and with his 74 strokes in 73.1 innings last year. This is for 34 walks. All this happened in the extremely favorable Texas League attack in Double.
This is just his season of 24 years, so there must be more in the tank to develop and become even better Pitcher. After all, if he makes seven innings in MLB this year, this is a lottery ticket for how he is doing, but given the protection, the grabs and the coaching team of the D-Backs, he probably does better than expected in Such a short amount of inning.
Why Ray can perform less than projection
Ray didn’t have a remarkable season last year at Double, even with the explosive offensive environment. He recorded 5.22 ERA there for 70.2 innings. In addition, he had an average of 2.0 hosts for nine innings and recorded a thip of 1.527.
This is a difficult stretch of statistics that Ray will have to take down to perform well in MLB or even get the chance to let go of big leagues. He is certainly able to do just that, but it will require a big jump.
Thus, if there are problems in Rino and the team called it, it could return it to where it made its debut in 2026. If that happens, it means that he did not perform less than these predictions, such as even He did not get the chance to make his debut in MLB and show what he could do.
Dylan Ray is one of Arizona Diamondbex’s best prospects. There is a reason why it is ranked number 15 of this site. It has the potential to be an impactful hand in higher leagues. However, he must make a big jump in limiting hard contact and base traffic to reach Chase Field during the upcoming season.
If he manages to do so, he can certainly strike enough and keep the attackers out of balance during the first few performances in his career to perform much better than these predictions. Only time will show how he is doing, but it will not be a surprise to see him well in the Triple Reno and then make an episodic role in September 2025.
After all, D-Backs believed in it enough to make him make several appearances in the Arizona Autumn League last fall.
