What you need to know
For the first time this season, the Bulls are heading into a contest that pundits believe they will win. They will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Utah Jazz at 8:30 PM ET at the United Center. Both are 5-5 against each other since March 2019, but likely not for long.
Last Friday, the Bulls couldn’t keep up with the Nets and fell 120-112. Chicago hasn’t had much luck with Brooklyn lately, as the team has come up short in the last three times they’ve met.
Despite the loss, the Bulls got a top performance from Nikola Vucevic, who recorded a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds. The dominating performance also gave Vucevic a new career high in field goal percentage (90.9%).
Meanwhile, the Jazz’s recent rough patch got a little tougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They suffered a dismal 129-103 loss to the Nuggets. Utah was certainly aware of its disadvantage in point distribution, but foreboding did nothing to hinder the outcome.
Chicago’s loss dropped their record to 3-3. As for Utah, their loss dropped their record to 0-6.
Rebounding will likely be a big factor in this contest: The Bulls have been crushing the glass this season, averaging 50.3 rebounds per game. However, it’s not like the Jazz struggle in that department, as they averaged 46.3. With both teams struggling to collect missed shots, we’ll see if one team can take the edge.
The Bulls came out on top in a huge battle against the Jazz in their previous game in March, sneaking away 119-117. Do the Bulls have another win up their sleeve, or will the Jazz turn the tables on them? We will have the answer very soon.
