Celebrate the capital The culture of the region this week with 225 day events around Baton Rouge.
In recent years, viral publications on social media and local organizations have called February 25 (or 02/25) as 225 days, with 225 festivals being held at 225 festivals. The festival was established in 2023, paying tribute to food, music, art and others to the metropolitan region. After its creation, the event increased to a two -day event with 32,000 people present last year.
As February 25 falls on Tuesday this year, the main festival is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2, to give everyone a chance in the community to go out and celebrate.

Founder Mira Richardson says she has launched the festival to shine light on what Baton Rouge is unique.
“I just saw that there is a tone in our community where many of us talk about Baton Rouge,” says Richardson. “I just saw the need to talk positively, especially if we wanted to attract talent and maintain talent.”
This year the festival has been expanded to a two -day event and will move from the center of Baton Rouge to the highway park of Brek Airline. These changes were made to adapt the ongoing parades of Mardi Gras, rolling through the city center, as well as to expand the expected crowd. With 18,000 people already scheduled to attend, Richardson says the crowd is expected to be even more than last year.

“This is the most important part for us to make sure that families have space and safety,” says Richardson. “We make our diligence properly to make sure it’s a very top experience.”
The free, family event will include everything-from walking with arts and trucks for food to a children’s area, small business suppliers and live entertainment. Food sellers include Smoke Bayou, Empire Wingz, Munchies street food, Cuban coffee and Eliza cuisine and other local concepts. Music acts include Max Minelli, Vince Hutchinson & Friends, Snug, DJ Kicks and others.
“We really just wanted to gather all the elements, the nostalgia, the things people love for the metropolitan region together in a day in the festival experience in a street,” says Richardson.

And the weekend festival also does not stop the creators of 225 festivals and other local organizations to celebrate on the big day.
Richardson and the team will also host the 225-day day: an official starting party at Red Stick Social on Tuesday, February 25, to keep the tradition of celebrating 225 days.
“We will never want to give up for 225 days, obviously because it is an early age in our name,” says Richardson.

Tickets for the start give participants with access to the five floors of Red Stick Social entertainment, including DJs, Bowling and more. Former Mayor Sharon Weston Broome will also honor the Committee of 225 Festivals And the work she has done for the city.
The Chamber of the Baton Rouge region will also host the 225 -day live celebration of Chelsea on Tuesday, February 25th. The event will coincide with the BRAC annual meeting and aims to encourage members of the board, investors and the public to celebrate the region. The holiday will include the Btr Hat-Make Your station, a Baton Rouge Ukulele player and a chance to hear about the work that Brac has made in the region.
“It will be a fun day, just by celebrating everything that is better at Baton Rouge,” says Morgan Almeida, Senior Vice President of Marketing Brac. “Honestly, it will just be a fun day when we can all get together and celebrate the day together.”

Brac also encourages local business to celebrate 225 days in its own way as part of its better BTR campaign. Brac launched the initiative last year to emphasize the good things in Baton Rouge and build a better BTR through revival projects.
The area of the area aims to include the community by inviting the business to celebrate 225 days through simple things like igniting its red business for Red Stick, giving 225 cookies to customers and even organizing volunteer days for their employees.
“Part of 225 days we hope it really expands this better in the BTR brand and helps it become a real brand of the community,” says Almeida. “Doing this, we want businesses to put their rotation on what 225 days mean to them.”
Brac also hopes to include the local business with 225 days and their public campaign through its open kit. The resource provides a collection of personalized designs and motives that local business can adapt to the distribution of better Btr brand.
“The possibilities for him are absolutely boundless, which I think is special,” says Almeida. “It’s like taking this brand of the Community and putting your own organizational rotation on what it means to you.”
