If thousands of federal employees all remain at once, del. Michael Fegans said it could affect everything from real estate prices to local dining establishments.

Virginia Beach, Washington – Federal Judge pause President Trump’s plans to reduce the federal workforce.

Government officials had to accept or reject a “postponed resignation letter” by midnight, which could have led to eight months. The deadline for this has already been pushed at least on Monday, and employees who accept that they can still receive full pay and benefits by September.

However, several organizations and local politicians insist on the agenda.

“If they take this potential compensation, do you know if they actually be paid?” asked Michael Feganos Delegate, the 97th county. “There are many things that come into what we need to look at.”

Virginia’s democrat said that if mass resignations were given at the federal level, it could have a significant impact on Hampton roads. Fengans said there are 30,000 federal workers in the second congress district, which includes part of the roads in Hampton. Throughout the country, this issue jumps to 145,000 federal civil servants, more if you take into account government contractors.

If all thousands of federal employees have resigned at a time, Fegans said it could affect everything from real estate prices to local dining establishments.

“You are watching a large group of workers who could potentially leave the country after resigning,” Fagans said. “You need to think about the tax base they provide and what can happen if it disappears.”

Virginia Chairman House Don Scott formed an emergency committee to monitor and evaluate the impact that the federal workforce may have throughout the country. FEGGANS is already part of this committee and said it reaches both paths.

“This is not a red or blue question. It will have lasting effects on all throughout the community, so I applaud the Scott speaker in strengthening and forming this committee.”

The Emergency Committee plans to hold its first meeting in May. Until then, Fengans said the Committee would analyze data on the scope of the federal workforce of the state.
