Baton Rouge, La. (First Louisiana) – Louisiana is in the top 10 states with the highest weekly food costs, according to a new study analyzing food inflation over the last decade.

The Pricelisto study focuses on the average cost of food for income. The findings of the study show major changes in the cost of grocery in the United States, with average weekly grocery costs increasing from $ 198.60 in 2014 to $ 264.60 in 2024 – equal to a 33% increase.

Hawaii, Alaska, California, Nevada and Mississippi were identified as the first five states with the highest food costs in a 10-year comparison.
