The Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center invites the community to enjoy hot drinks, good bream and conversation with neighbors. This is a free event to provide a place to share and gather. This event is located in the dining hall at the Fort Garland Museum with parking and entrance in the rear of the building.
Fort Garland Winter Artisan Market
Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center | Saturday, December 14, 11am-2:30pm
Join the Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center for the Winter Artisan Market. Shop for unique holiday gifts created by local artisans and crafters and enjoy a day filled with musical entertainment, prizes and delicious food. Doors open at 11am, with parking and entrance at the front of the museum.
The museum will also be holding its 3rd Annual Biscotti Baking Contest during this event. Shipments of 2 dozen cookies will be accepted between 10:30-11:30 am on the day of the event. Entry fee is $10. Judging will begin at noon and winners will be announced at 2 p.m
Interested vendors can pick up an application at the Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center or register online. The cost is $20. Places are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register as a seller is December 6. Contact the museum for more information at (719) 379-3512.

Fort Garland was built in 1858, 10 years after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, during American westward expansion. Today, visitors can explore life in a nineteenth-century military fort by walking the parade grounds and touring five of the original adobe buildings. The Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center is a public museum of Colorado history.
