Northeast 63, Kamden 42
The northeastern eagles (11-2, 5-1 northeast coastal conference) have compiled a 3-1 record in the last four games, beginning with their 63-42 victory over Kamden on Wednesday. The Eagles beat John A. Holmes 65-41 on Tuesday, IC Norcom (Portsmouth, Virginia) 61-57 on January 20, but lost to King’s Fork (Suffolk, Virginia) on January 18th.
Against Kamden, NHS senior Tiel Saunders pulled 26 points, including 18 from behind the three -point arc.
The loss only at the Eagles Conference was on the first flight, a defeat by 54-52 on January 15.
Northeast will host Hertford County on Friday and play in Pasquotank on Saturday.
First Flight 74, Currituck 55
The Currituck knights (10-8, 4-4 NCC) are 4-mach, losing 74-55 to the first flight on Thursday, 63-56 from Kamden County on Tuesday, 67-55 to Grassfield (Cesapeake, Virginia) January 20 and 6 of John A. Holmes on January 18th.
The knights will play in Mandeo on Friday and travel to Edenton for a rematch with Holmes Aces on Tuesday.
Pasquotank 90, Manteo 62
Pasquotank Panthers (6-8, 3-4 NCC) have traveled 2-1 in the last three games, starting with 90-62 victory over Manteo on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 65-63 in Hertford County on Tuesday and defeated the Big Bridge (Chesapike, Virginia) 63-54 on January 20.
Against the Mandeo Junior Pascotank, Jean Harris led his team with 23 points. He was assisted by his teammates Branden Smith (17 points) and Kenya Parker (10 points).
The Panthers will host John A. Holmes on Friday and play northeast on Saturday.
Northeast 63, Kamden 42
Camden Bruins (9-8, 2-5 NCC) lost to NHS Eagles 63-42 on Wednesday, but beat Currituck 63-56 the previous day. On January 20, Bruins fell with 41-35 of Franklin Broncos (Franklin, Virginia).
Kamden will play on the first flight on Friday and will host northeast on Tuesday.
John A. Holmes 75, Bear Grass 42
Holmes Aces (8-6, 2-3) has completed 2-2 in the last four games. ACES beat the Bear Grass 75-42 charter on Wednesday and lost the previous two 65-41 games in northeast on Tuesday and 58-43 from Lakeland (Suffolk, Viginia) on January 20. The Asi defeated Currituck in Currituck 61-56 on January 18th.
Against the bear, ACES limited the enemy to only five points scored in the first quarter.
Holmes will play in Pascutank County on Friday and travel to the first flight on Saturday.
Washington 70, Perquimans 50
Perquimans Pirates (2-16, 0-7 Four Rivers) lost three straight, starting with a 70-50 loss to Washington County on Tuesday. The pirates fell 80-49 in Berti on Monday and 59-33 for Northampton on January 20.
The pirates will play at the Northeastern Academy on Friday and will host a rematch with Gates County on Monday. Gates won the first 61-48 competition on January 14th.
Tarboro 69, Gates County 54
The red barons of the gates (4-10, 1-5 four rivers) lost 69-54 on Wednesday. The barons hosted the Northeastern Preparatory Academy on Wednesday, but has not been published on MaxPreps.com as of Friday.
Gates will host Berti on Friday and travel to Hertford for a rematch with Perquimans pirates on Monday. Gates won the first 61-48 competition on January 14th.
Girls Basketball
Northeast 48, Kamden 16
The northeastern eagles (7-4, 5-1 northeast coastal conference) compiled a 2-1 record in their last three games, starting with a 48-16 victory over Kamden on Wednesday. The Eagles defeated John A. Holmes 73-34 on Tuesday, but they lost 56-24 to Grafton (Yortown Virginia) on January 18th.
The only loss of the Eagles Conference was on Currituck, a defeat by 52-45 on January 17th.
Northeast will host Hertford County on Friday and play in Pasquotank on Saturday.
Currituck 58, First Flight 53
Currituck knights (13-4, 8-0 NCC) won their last three games, starting their 58-53 victory over the first flight on Thursday. The knights won their previous two 40-37 games over Camden County on Tuesday and 39-34 over John A. Holmes on January 18th.
Against the first flight, the Currituck Savannah Banks senior led with the highest 22 points and she was assisted by teammates Ariana White (17 points) and Amani Dawson (11 points).
The knights will play in Mandeo on Friday and host Martin County on Saturday.
Pasquotank 50, Manteo 47
Pasquotank Panthers (4-10, 3-4 NCC) won their last two games, beginning with their 50-47 victory over Monso on Wednesday. Pasquotank fences Hertford County 46-45 on Tuesday.
The Panthers will host John A. Holmes on Friday and northeast on Saturday.
Northeast 48, Kamden 16
Kamden Bruins (1-14, 0-7 NCC) lost two straight, starting from the lost 48-16 on Wednesday to the northeast. Bruins lost 40-37 in Currituck on Tuesday.
Against Northeast Aliya Anderson and Leila Roborson scored six points in number, and teammates Camrin Rowe and Tanya Harris assisted two points each.
Kamden will play on the first flight on Friday and will host northeast on Tuesday.
John A. Holmes 56, Bear Grass 43
John A. Holmes Aces (5-8, 3-2 NCC) has a record of 1-2 in its last three games, starting with a 56-43 win over Bear Grass. The Aces lost 73-34 in northeast on Tuesday and 39-34 in Currituck County on January 18th.
Holmes will play in Pascutank County on Friday and travel to the first flight on Saturday.
Perquimans 57, Washington 21
Perquimans Pirates (16-1, 6-1 NCC) won three straight, starting with a 57-21 victory over Tuesday over Washington County. The pirates beat Berti 62-8 on Monday and beat Martin County 63-43 on January 17th.
Pirates will play at North East Prep Academy on Friday and will play DH Conley on Saturday. On Monday, pirates were confronted with a rematch with Gates County, which distributed to the pirates his only loss of the season, thriller 47-46 games on January 14th.
Gates 69, Northeast Preparatory Academy 8
The red barons of Gates County (17-0, 7-0 Four Rivers) continued their unbeaten season, defeating Northeast Reb 69-8 on Wednesday. The barons beat Tarboro 80-16 on Tuesday.
Against Northeast Reb, the freshman Camrin Ridik led his team in scoring with 17 points. Freshman Zoe Knowel assisted with 11 points, and teammate London Barber added 14 more points to the baron party.
Gates will host Berti on Friday and travel to Hertford for a rematch with Perquimans pirates on Monday. Gates won the first 47-46 competition on January 14th.
