Hialeah Heist: Cagey Crooks Snatch Songbirds in Bird -taping Spree – WPLG Local 10

Hialeah, FLA. -Hialeah has become the hot spot for an unexpected type of bird theft.

Three separate incidents, within the blocks of one another, leave the residents puzzled.

Beatrice Mestril said she was the most victim after her yellow Canary Maximo was grabbed less than 10 minutes after she had put her cell out for air.

“I take a lot of care of him,” Mestril said in Spanish. “Our pets are like our children. He belongs to my daughter and my children also suffer when they lose their pets. “

The feathered hike was caught on a camera. You can see the truck pull up, then turn to a western 41 -street street in Hyali.

The passenger casually goes out, goes up the stairs and makes a line for the cage. After a little fight, he took Maximo, leaving behind nothing but feathers and powerlessness.

As it turns out, this is not the first time a crook flew someone’s pet. In such a basket, a nimble thief with the ability to climb scaled balconies after noticing Miriam Cruz’s two cocktails on his inner courtyard on the second floor.

She was crying. She couldn’t believe it – a neighbor recalled.

The man grabbed the cage and escaped from the scene of his moped. A similar man was then spotted a few blocks in the store and the supplies of Janet’s pet.

The cameras there caught only a thief reaching for a black bird cage inside. Employees said it cost $ 1,500 with the cell.

It is unclear whether all three thefts are connected and residents want to know if these crooks are specifically targeted at birds or shake packages and take whatever they find along the way.

If you have any information about any of these cases call the Hyaliah Police
