Saturday apartment fire in Hemet has displaced people living in 12 units, according to authorities.
The fire began at about 3:30 pm at the 555 E. Fruitvale Avenue apartment complex in Hemet, west of San Jackinto Street and North of Avenue Florida, according to Hemet Efrain Vargas Fire Service.
After its arrival, Hemet FD observed a strong smoke coming from two units on the first and second floors. The fire extends into a third unit, Vargas said.
The units were red and electricity to the whole complex was closed due to the fire, exposure and damaging electrical lines affecting all 12 units in the complex, according to Vargas.
The Red Cross helped the displaced.
One person suffers from slight inhalation of smoke. In addition, they have not been reported injuries, according to Vargas.
The reason for the fire was in the process of investigation.
