Helicopter of the National Guard of Virginia Black Hawk made an unplanned landing in a cascade, Maryland, on Thursday afternoon.

Two people were aboard the aircraft who landed safely without injury after a mechanical problem reported.

In a statement provided to WTOP, the National Guard of Virginia said the helicopter made a “protective landing in a field near the Haggerstown Regional Airport” and will remain there overnight.

The law enforcement agencies provide the landing site and VNG said its aviation team would restore the plane on Friday.

This is the second last regional incident featuring a Black Hawk helicopter.

Last week, Black Hawk helicopter collided with the American Airlines Flight 5342, as the regional aircraft was on its latest approach to Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. Sixty-seven people were killed in a collision in the middle-60 passengers on the plane, along with two pilots and two flight attendants. Three pilots were in the helicopter who was conducting a night training mission and flying a helicopter route along the Potomak River.

Cascade, Maryland, is in Washington County, south of the Pennsylvania state line.
