Mingo County, WV (Lootpress) – As of January 25, 2025, approximately 2100 customers in Mingo County are without water due to significant operating problems affecting local water systems. The interruptions began after complications in the Mingo Public Service (PSD) pool and worsened due to the effects of the last low temperatures affecting both Kermit water and PSD facilities of the Mingo County. These technical difficulties have caused a reduction in the water supply available to the PSD of the Mingo County, Crum and other selected areas influencing the service of many residents.
While local water employees are working hard to reinstate the service, the state provides assistance through the Ministry of Health in West Virginia (DH) and the Ministry of Homeland Security in West Virginia to support local efforts to resolve water problems. PSD technical assistance is now provided at the Mingo County through the Ministry of Health Bureau to deal with services problems. Also, bottled water pallets have also been delivered to the area of the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Homeland Security.
Health Secretary Sheri Young expressed his support for constant efforts. “The well -being of the Western Virginians is our top priority. We mobilize and coordinate support to help Ming County. “The secretary of the Cabinet of Homeland Security Robert Cunningham sounds these thoughts.” The safety of Western Virginia is our mandate and our focus. Internal security will do everything possible to help our Western Virginians. “
These agencies carefully monitor the situation and coordinate resources to help Mingo PSD restore reliable water service as soon as possible.
Additional updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
