Harris will visit UW-Madison on Wednesday for the Get Out the Vote rally – Daily Cardinal

Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Oct. 30 to hold a Get Out the Vote event less than a week after the Nov. 5 election, a campaign official said.

Musicians Grace Abrams, Mumford and Sons, Remi Wolf and The Nation’s Matt Berninger and Aaron Dessner will play at the rally and mobilize the community to sway the youth vote.

Dane County is the fastest growing county in the state. In the spring 2023 election, UW-Madison students flocked to the polls for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz in record numbers.

In campus wards containing university residence halls, 91.3 percent of voters voted for Protasiewicz — 10 percent more than Dane County as a whole, according to voting data from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Harris last visited Madison on September 20 to rally for abortion rights and small businesses at the Alliant Energy Center.
