GO Topeka celebrates entrepreneurs with a week of events – WIBW

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Topeka is taking time to celebrate and support entrepreneurs with Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The week is celebrated from November 18 to 24, but Topeka will hold its events a week earlier.

India Yarborough, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Greater Topeka Partnership, and Israel Sanchez, GO Topeka Director of Equity and Business Development, visited Eye on NE Kansas to discuss some of the events.

Both say entrepreneurs are the heart of the local business community. They want small business owners and those looking to start a business to be aware of the resources that GTP and GO Topeka have to offer.

Local Global Entrepreneurship Week events kick off with media and public relations training. It has already reached capacity.

GTP also invites people to consider the Women in Business Conference. The Kansas Chamber is organizing the event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Maner Conference Center. Tickets are $140 and people can register at kansaschamber.org.

Also on November 12 is the monthly edition of GTP Business Rewind. The free networking event takes place from 5 to 7 pm at Ernest Spencer Metals, 5600 SW Topeka Blvd.

The City’s Supplier Diversity Workshop will be held in conjunction with the Entrepreneurship Empowerment Fair from 8:30am to 2:30pm on November 13. It is held at the Bishop Education Center, 3601 SW 31st. It’s free, but registration is required at this link.

The event concludes with lunch and an event entitled “How to do business with the city”. It takes place from 11:30am to 1:00pm on November 15th in the GTP Boardroom, 719 S. Kansas. It’s free, but GoTopeka.com registration is required.
