Glendale has another increase in water speed planned for 2026.

During its seminar at 12:30 pm Tuesday, February 11, at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive, the City Council will analyze future needs for improving water infrastructure and discuss sources of funding.

Infrastructure improvements, estimated at $ 418 million, are planned over the next five years to ensure that reliable water and sewer services continue.

In their information package for this five -year forecast, employees of the city concluded that tariff adjustments were needed to provide the financial resources needed for system rehabilitation and improvements; and maintain a 24-hour service.

The second element of the agenda for the seminar is the results and an early analysis of the study of Glendale 2024 residents.

Glendale sent the survey to 9,500 casual residences and 481 were returned from the post office as impossible or free. The city received 402 response to the survey and their priorities include:

  • The importance of more housing services for people with low or moderate incomes.
  • Road improvements and water and sewerage systems are the most important activities for improving infrastructure.
  • Employment and homes for life are the biggest challenge for low-income households.
  • Organized cleaning of the neighborhood is necessary to improve the neighborhood.
  • The retention of existing business is considered to be the most strong aspect of economic development.
  • Housing and homelessness are the most important priority in the city.
