Glendale police chief Chris Briggs retired after spending his entire police career – more than 32 years – serving the community.
In his role as Chief of Brigs, he led the successful implementation of the first “real -time crime center in Arizona”. It also plays an important role in creating an incident response team in West Valley, which investigates critical incidents such as officers related to officers.
The last day of the Main Briggi in the office will be Friday, February 28th.
He also manages the public safety efforts of the department associated with several high -profile events, such as Super Bowl LVII, the NCAA Final Four for Men and Multiple Campaign Presidential Stations held at Glendale.
“As we look at the future, you have to take advantage of the opportunities that come to your path and sometimes you have to admit that it is time to retreat, and this is the perfect time to give up,” Brigs said in a press message. “There is no doubt in my mind that the Glendale Police Department is the best police station in the country, I know what we are doing and how we do it and I know the passion we do with, and I could not be more than this department. “
Briggs began his service in 1992. During his time in the department, he served in various roles in each ward, including as a patrol officer, criminal investigator and in special operations.

Police have appointed an assistant chief Colby Brand to serve as head of Glendale’s temporary police. The retirement of the Chief Briggi has been scheduled for several years, allowing him to work with a brand to give him sufficient preparation to serve as a police chief.
The brand will serve in this capacity, while the constant replacement of the chief of the city of Briggs.
“I know that during this time the department will serve well for the brand chief and I know that the temporary main brand will also serve the department well,” Brigs said. “That’s what we work together, we’re family.”
