GLENDALE, Arizona – A Valley church is pleading for help after its equipment was stolen.
The theft took place on October 26 near 75th Avenue and Union Hills Driveand was caught on camera.
The refectory church operates out of Arrowhead Elementary School and lead pastor Cody Deavers says the stolen equipment is worth more than $45,000.
Video footage shows the theft took place between 9 and 10 p.m
Video shows an SUV pulling into the parking lot and then taking off with someone else leaving in the church’s truck a few minutes later.
Divers says he believes the thieves came earlier in the week on Oct. 22 to check security around the equipment.
Not only was the truck and trailer taken, but most of the church furniture they used to place at Arrowhead Elementary was inside the stolen trailer.
“All of our chairs, all of our shelving, all of the furniture that goes in our lobby that we do for the check-in tables and all that stuff,” the pastor said.
Deavers says that despite the great loss, the church has been able to adjust. Although the church is moving forward with a positive mindset, it wants its equipment back as soon as possible.
“That didn’t stop us that day. I mean, the church has been through a lot worse and that wasn’t going to stop us, so we just turned around,” Deavers said.
His faith, he says, helps him find peace as the investigation to find the thieves continues.
“The message is still ‘Jesus saves.’ Jesus may even save these thieves, I forgave them, but return our things if you have them.
