Girls Fight: Eight To Apply for EBF – Ottumwacourier

Leon – it was a long and rough afternoon and evening of wrestling at the regional qualification tournament in the central decade on Friday. When smoke and dust precipitated, these were the rockets in Edive-Blickburg-Fremont, who wanted five championships and three runners. All eight of these ladies will compete at the Girl’s Extreme Arena Girl in Coralville this weekend.

With 105 pounds, Grace Wade did not make the finals and took fifth place.

Then Rocket Express hit full speed with four championships in the next five weight classes. It all started at 110 pounds, where Abigail Gurfling nailed his way to the finals and then put a big solution for Albia’s Paige Popson for the Championship. There would be no fighting back and the two girls advanced to the state.

With 115 pounds, another rocket stood at the top of the win of victory. Kate Krause started with a quick pin and then scored technically falls into the semifinals and finals to grab the gold. Krause’s victory was followed by another rocket win by 120 pounds. Georgia Smith scored a pair of pins to make the finals and then use a technical autumn to ask for the title.

With 125 pounds, the missiles did not receive the title, but there was still some excitement. The EBF Olivia Rupe was killed by the Carly Cruz Championship match of Creston, but in the fight back, she leveled Macie Little on North Mahaska to take second place and hit her ticket.

The 130 -pound title belonged to the missiles as Miley Kirkpatrick nodded Lyila Ewing to Moravia for the title. Then Ewing had to put up with a third, as she was forced to default with an injury. The Rockets final champion came with 190 pounds when Atalissa Lobberecht broke through the field to drill his ticket able.

In the last game of the evening with EBF 235 pounds, EBF took Atlantic Haley Armstrong and got into difficulty at the beginning of the match and was nailed. But Ray managed to fight back for a second against Maraya Ripper on Knoxville and scored a pin to limit his senior season by traveling to a state.

“I’m just aesthetic,” said EBF coach Gareth Crouse. “Our girls were just exceptional today. There was great energy and intensity all day and this was transferred from the wrestling room. Our practices can be quite intense at times. I am so proud of all the girls, but especially from our 125 pounds, Olivia Rupe. It was JV two weeks ago and finally broke the Varsity composition. Tonight she nailed the # 3, ranked by a fighter in her weight to go to the state. It was exciting. “

Opalusian freshman Mia Lucky raised her record to 34-1 as she broke through the class 135 pounds and advanced to request.

With 145 pounds, Brigan Elison from Moravia nailed his way to the title and the state meeting, while Sadie Ja gagn had to put up with a heartbreaking third place.

At 105 Knoxville Serenity Turner, he picks the way through the field to ask for gold and travel to the state.

Albia will be represented in a staff of Paige Popson (110) and Major (140). The winners of the third place for Lady Dees were Sirin Thompson (105) and Maggie Macanic (155).

Moravia will be represented by Brigan Elison (145) in the state while third places went to Laila Ewing and Kenna Spencer.

North Mahaska received third seats from Kaylia Shipman (115) and Maki Little (125).
