Bowling Green – Gilbert Gibby Wayne Grogan, 78 by Bowling Green, died on Thursday on February 13, 2025 at his home. Gibby was born in Bowling Green on August 1, 1946 in the late Cas and Hester Grogan. Gibby is a graduate of 1964 at Bowling Green High School.
He served as a firefighter/ paramedic for the Lexington Fire Service from 1973 to 1996 and retired with a major rank. Gibby was a keen fan of the University of Kentucky and a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Kentucky. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Gibby survived his wife Lin Grogan, daughter Kim Reynolds (Randy), his sister Rita Pierce, three brothers; Philip Grogan (Donna), Charles Grogan and Anthony Grogan (Oiin), two granddaughters; Page Tyson (Gareth) and Ashley Octar (Eddie), five big grandchildren and four nieces.
A visit to JC Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel will be Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 14:00 to 18:00 and Thursday from 11:00 to service time.
The funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, February 20, 2025 at JC Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with a funeral to follow in Green Gardens Bowling.
