Gayle Parsons Ross – Parsons AdvocateChesapiIK, Va-Gyle Parsons Ross, 88, born on September 11, 1936 in Parsons, WV by Paul Alton Parsons, Senior and Jossa Lantz Parsons, died quietly on January 23, 2025, surrounded by relatives.

Gail met her husband at Berea College, Berea, Ky, where he won a bachelor’s degree. She won a master’s degree at the University of Old Dominion while teaching. She dedicated her life to education and service. A passionate teacher, she has taught for almost 30 years and touches countless lives with her kindness, patience and unwavering commitment to her students. Gail was also a hidden member of the Baptist Church in Westheven, where he has been true in various roles, including choir, various tips and committees. Later in life, Gail is pursuing a career in real estate, where she finds joy of helping families to find their dream homes. Her warmth and professionalism made her a reliable and respected community agent.

Gail was preceded by her loving husband of 62 years, Forest Ron Ross. Left to appreciate her memory are her daughters, Lykia Fips James (Drew) and Ronda J. Ross (Cindy); Sisters, Joan P. Chris, Robin Mary Parsons (Bill) and Marlin Stamie; brothers, Paul Alton Parsons -Jr. (Barbara) and Jared M. Parsons; grandchildren, Cameron Gail Finds and Remy Forrest Fipps. Nieces and Nieces, Tammy Parsons Sharp (Garni), Tommy Parsons (Melissa), Davili Chris Kadrick (Ben), Angela Chris, Michael Parsons (Shannon), Leslie Parsons, Brandon Malcin, Donna Harris (Tandy), Tracy RoS family members, dear friends, colleagues and ex -students.

Gail deeply loved his family and worshiped the time he spent with them. She had a special place in her heart for the outer shores of North Carolina, where she found joy and peace during family vacations, making valuable memories with loved ones. Gail will be remembered for her kindness, humor, generosity and the deep impact she had on those who knew her.

A post -service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 11 o’clock, with a reception that will follow in the social hall, in the Baptist Church Westheven, 4900 Caroline Avenue in Portsmouth, Virginia. Instead of flowers, donations can be made in the Baptist Church of Westheven. The arrangements are entrusted to Sturtvant’s funeral home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. www.sturtevantfuneralhome.com
