Gary Gilbert Omdahl, 81, of Toddville, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Mercy Home, Hiawatha, after a brief illness with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at Springs of Life Church, 1001 E 3rd St., Anamosa, by Pastor Mark Ortgis. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. At Teahen’s Funeral Home, and on Friday at the church after 9:30 A.M.
Gary is survived by his significant other, Claudette Becker; three children, Gary Slager, James Hughes and Wendy Hughes; stepson, Kerry (Lisa) Becker; three grandchildren, Tabitha (Allen) Blaich, Skylar (Amber) Hudden and Rocky (Faye) Smith; Five great-grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Jordan Blaich, Jackson Hudson, Braden Nolan and Bellamy Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sheena Stoner; stepdaughter, Stoner Valencia; a sister, Diane Beyer; and stepfather, Clifford Beyer.
Gary was born on March 1, 1943. in Milwaukee, WI, son of Heino and Elaine Wetzel Omdahl. Graduated from Deerbrook, WI High School in 1961. Gary was a road driver for many years.
Since 1974 Gary spent time restoring a 1960 G Mack Macke truck. He enjoyed being on the road as a truck driver and mowing lawns. Gary was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR, often watching their events on television. He cherished spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
