“The help of someone you know is easy. But to help someone you don’t … it takes a special heart,” said Dr. Adpa.

Her journey began at the age of 8 when she emigrated from Ghana to North Texas. She pursues a career in dentistry and ultimately opened her own practice in Garland. But its impact goes beyond the walls of her clinic.

“You could rest, but instead you chose to go through the ocean to help someone who will remember it for the rest of your life … as helped me,” she said.

Every year, D -R Acquaye returns to Ghana, where her family still lives to transform life and smiles. It operates its own non -profit purpose, healing hearts and hands, which provides dental care for poor and disadvantaged children in villages and orphans in Ghana.

“For some of these children, this is the first time they have brushed their teeth or have seen a dentist,” she said.

Dr Acquaye fundraising for all deliveries for its trips that aim to help 3,000 patients annually. Last year, however, its number almost doubled, with nearly 7,000 people receiving care – a powerful reminder of the huge need for healthcare in these rural areas.

“It is difficult for these people in rural areas to have access to medical and health care,” said Dr. Adpa.

Despite the prevailing search, D -R Acquaye remains passionate to make a change. She believes that even if her efforts to help only one person, everything is worth it.

“If I can just influence one of them to go back and do something like that when they get old … Then it’s worth it,” she said.
