Future Career Art Contest Open to Arizona Elementary School Students – Daily Independent

The Arizona State Treasurer’s Office along with AZ529, the Arizona Education Savings Plan, are asking Arizona’s kindergarten through sixth grade students to envision their future careers and the education they need to achieve their dreams.

The fourth annual AZ529 Future Career Art Contest, now underway, requires students to bring their dreams to life on paper, according to a news release. Students are asked to draw, paint or find a creative way to make artwork representing their dream job.

A total of 15 winners will be selected statewide and receive $529 to open a new or existing AZ529 Education Savings Plan account. One winner will be selected from each of Arizona’s 15 counties, the release continues, and at least one winner will be selected each representing a district, charter, private school, tribal school and home school. The winners will be honored by Treasurer Kimberly Yee during a special ceremony at the state Capitol in late March.

According to the announcement, nearly $8,000 will be distributed to 15 students to start or help save for their post-high school education plans. Winners’ parents or guardians will be responsible for creating an AZ529 account if an account does not already exist.

All entries must be submitted online at az529.gov/2025ArtContest or by direct mail. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (MST) on March 9.
