Furry Friends Friday – Amy & Garland – WIS News 10

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Amy and Garland are a bonded pair of female kittens up for adoption at Pawmetto Lifeline. They are about 4-5 months old.

A good Samaritan found Amy, Garland and 3 other kittens when they were very young and sick strays. Pawmetto Lifeline wasn’t even sure if they would make it. Fortunately, a fantastic foster mother stepped in, brought them into her home and nursed them back to health. What an amazing breeding testimony! It’s truly amazing what foster parents can do!

Due to untreated upper respiratory infections they had as newborns, their left eye was damaged. Amy’s eye has a corneal tear and will soon have the eye removed. Garland’s eye is still being monitored for a laceration, but Pawmetto Lifeline hopes it may just be scarring. He would keep the eye, just with blurred vision.

It is truly amazing about animals how they are completely unaffected by anything that can make them appear “different” to human eyes. They have no idea that their eyes look a little different than other kitties and it definitely doesn’t hurt their feelings or slow them down!

Amy and Garland currently live on site at Pawmetto Lifeline, running around the administrative offices and entertaining the staff. They are both super loving, sweet and extremely playful! Garland even likes to carry his toys in his mouth, it’s pretty fun! They don’t mind being held and cuddled and love to participate or whatever you do. Once they get tired of playing, they will crawl right into your lap and fall asleep.

You can meet Amy and Garland during Pawmetto Lifeline’s adoption hours Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm or by appointment during the week. Amy and Garland have a discounted adoption fee of just $50 which includes their spay/neuter, microchip and up to date vaccinations! Complete an adoption application online before visiting www.pawmettolifeline.org.
