Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – Our meteorological model continues to undergo a significant change, with spring conditions being expected in the second half of the week.
Wednesday’s forecast
Many clouds will be around again during the day, but only a slight chance of shower is expected. Even in the clouds, the tendency for warming continues when the peaks climb into low 70s.
Approaches 80 to Thursday
For a little over 7 days, we will see the temperatures pass from record single digits last week to nearly 80 degrees until this Thursday. This will not be a record, but it is not far from it.
Storms arrive by the beginning of Friday
A weak cold front is expected to deliver a line of showers and thunderstorms in the area late on Thursday night on Friday morning.
A heavy threat to the weather
The storm forecasting center emphasizes the potential for several strong to heavy storms, such as level 1 (limit) to level 2 (light) from 5, published for the greater part of our area.
Rain
Rain quantities must be controlled for most. While the weather forecasting center usually shows medium or less, I would not be surprised if the amounts are a little higher in places.
Extension
The prolonged forecast indicates that it does not return with cold weather soon. The high will range from the middle of the 70s to about 80 degrees next week.
