Effective February 12, 2025 Eric Burmeister resigned as head of FUSD Unified School District (FUSD). Burmeister was in a position in just a few months, starting in July 2024, according to the school neighborhood website after receiving a unanimous vote from the Council. It contributed to the Bonds Campaign to improve the Mearm M facilities in November 2024.
FUSD official documents do not cause the resignation, leading to speculation among FreMont’s parents on social media. A school district representative responded to a request for comment and stated that staff questions remain confidential and the council focuses on a smooth transition and continues to support students and the community.
The previous CJ Cammack chief served from August 2020 to May 2024 before leaving to become the head of the University Quarter of the San Ramon Valley.
The board is looking for a new permanent supervisor and will create a target page for posting updates.
