Fremont, California – Fremont Police Department received a grant of $ 75,000 from the California traffic safety office to improve the implementation and education programs.
Funding, which lasts until September 30, aims to reduce injuries and victims associated with traffic through increased administration and community.
“We are grateful to receive this grant, which will strengthen our efforts to implement traffic and improve road safety,” said Lieutenant Ramin Mahbobi. “By increasing the implementation of movement laws and focusing on high-risk areas, we strive to reduce dangerous driving behavior, prevent catastrophes and make our ways safer for all.”
The grant will support several key initiatives, including DUI checkpoints, the implementation of high visibility of distracted driving laws and operations aimed at speeding, failure of extraction and disturbance of the red light.
In addition, the department will make specialized efforts to limit competitions and side days on the street while collaborating with neighboring agencies to improve the application of traffic safety.
Community engagement will also be a focus, such as public presentations on the dangers of disturbed and distracted driving, as well as the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. Employees will receive additional training and re -certification in critical areas, such as standardized field sobriety tests (SFST), refined roadside -impaired driving (ARIDE) and certification of drug recognition expert (DRE).
The funding of the program is provided by the California Traffic Safety Office through the National Motion Safety Administration on highways. The constant commitment of the Fremonth Police Department for traffic safety is intended to create more fascinating road sails for all residents and visitors.
