Fremont Bowling continued its Hac domination, covering the team tournament titles – Fremont Tribune

Fremont’s blossoming bowling dynasty added another focus to his book this week, becoming the first team in the history of the Heartland Athletic Conference, which swept the titles of the team for the bowling tournament at the conference.

This is the title of the second Fremont Girls team in the three -year existence of the tournament, while the boys are first.

The girls took care of the business first on Monday afternoon-this is the first time the tournament was distributed in a few days at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln-returning 2-0 in the championship game against Grand Island to win 3-2 S

If it sounds familiar, this is because the tigers took the same thing, twice, last year to win the Class A State Title.

But this is not the same Fremont group that withdrew the miracle at the end of the night a year ago, so that the group will do it again with a different composition, ensured an increase in confidence, said Fremont J. coach. Masters.

“They are looking for an identity,” the coach said for the first year. “They have the ability and have the talent, but the list is redirected last year, they are looking to understand their roles and what is required of them.”

Things became stricter in the initial circle after the tigers jumped to the lead 2-0 over Lincoln Southeast East, with a beat of 145-122 and 174-159. The knights fought back with two narrow wins to force the fifth set that Fremont won 176-150.

Fremont swept Lincoln East of the semifinals 178-135, 148-144, 168-131 to create another expense with the islanders.

Grand Island took the first two games 165-146 and 146-118 to put the tigers in a familiar hole.

Leaving open frames was a problem in the first two sets for Fremont.

“They struggled to make spare parts in the first two games of this match, and that’s what we preach,” Musti said. “As a group, they do not hit the tone, but they attract the ball to the pocket quite well and the difference between us and everyone else is, if ignited, we will put the ball in the pocket a lot and leave relatively easy spare parts. “

Fremont stole a three-pin match, 135-133, after which he stayed for another thin victory in the four, 152-148 match to create a fifth game of a winner.

The tigers won 158-144 in the final to take the title at home.

This is the second tournament that the tigers have won on Lanes Sun Valley this season, taking the home of Pius Invitational Trophy during the winter vacation.

“There are good vibrations there,” Musti said.

Masti emphasized Marin Meyer’s performance in the qualification circle as she helped the “tigers” win seeds # 2.

“She just started bowling this year,” he said. “She never struck the race until she started in the high school bowling team. She was 20 pins from all conferences.”

The boys did a quick job of their three Bakers games on the way to the first HAC title of the program, beating Columbus 3-1 in the finals.

“They really did a great job by gathering it and we are a completely different group than we were in the season,” Musti said. “The growth they had and where they are now is really remarkable.”

Fremont entered the Bakers Games as seed # 2 after shed 2988 Pina in the qualifying part.

The tigers took their opening circle with a match 3-1 (205-191, 145-165, 219-162, 224-154) over Lincoln Southeast, followed by 3-1 more win (188-140, 238-142, 148 -157, 175-158) Victory over Lincoln northeast.

Fremont said the championship with a 3-1 win over Columbus. The tigers took the game one 198-153 before the discoverers equalized the series with a victory 228-201.

This is the first year that Fremont did not take home an individual conference title with Norfolk Georgia Jungensen, who won the individual girls’ title, and Gavin Ungen Engen won the boys title.

However, Fremont placed three girls-haladee, Bates and Kay Valentin-and four boys-trent Crakemayer, Andrew Uus, Gerig Kudes and Isaac Barton-in the teams at all conferences.

Kreikemeier finished in third place, rolling 646 while WUSK took the fifth (618), Kuddes Seven (611) and Barton Eighth (610)

Masti was especially proud of Kuddes’ efforts in the qualifying round to win a place for all conferences without being represented in any of the Bakers Games.

“He was the kind of our six man all year long, he had a great look during the training session and cashing it up, making the All-Conference team,” Musti said. “He did not have many opportunities to start for us because we have so much depth and he was a fantastic teammate. He is a freshman, so he somehow understands what his role will be and really intensified and received a bunch of pins in the qualifying circle. “
