Frank K. Gilbert, 81 -year -old by Lewistown, was greeted in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in his home.
Born on August 29, 1943 in Lewistown, Frank is the son of the late Charles and Josephine (Miller) Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by death by his sister Gloria Boyer.
Frank has survived his dedicated wife, Shirly (Cherry), Gilbert, whom he shares 60 years of marriage; His son Timothy Gilbert and wife Amy of Lewistown; And his daughter Tina Ritenhouse and McWitown’s husband. He was the beloved grandfather of Riley and husband Cade, Joshua Ritenhouse and wife Christine and Hannah and Hale Ritenhouse and Lily Rithaus’s covenant great -grandfather. He also survived his brother Gary Gary Gilbert and his wife Dona from Abbottstown.
A proud graduate of 1961 at Logan’s Chief High School, Frank continues to serve his country with honor and courage in the United States army. As a medical specialist, he finished two tours in Vietnam, illustrating dedication and selflessness.
After his military service, Frank has been hired at Standard Steel for 41 years, retiring in 2005.
Faith was a cornerstone of Frank’s life. A conveyed member of the Church of Lewistown Alliance, he serves as an elder, member of the board and a Sunday school teacher, touching countless lives with his kindness and wisdom. He was also the previous member of the Bixler Gap Hunting Camp and Vietnam veterans #791.
Frank found joy from woodworking, restoring the cars with his son and applauding for Penn football, where he was a longtime employee at Beaver Stadium. First of all, his most joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the church of Lewistown Alliance, 50 Hudson Ave, Lewistown, with the pastors Bill Miller and John Luuni. The review will be held in the church from 10am until the service.
Private intervention will follow at Juniya Memorial Park
