Four women convicted of mail theft in Hialeah and Kendall neighborhoods – Noticias de Cuba en Miami

Four women have been convicted of multiple crimes related to mail theft in various neighborhoods of the cities of Hialeah and Kendall in southwest Miami-Dade County, AmericaTeve reported.

The women, identified as Amanda Garcia, Damaris Diaz Hidalgo, Rachel Romero Milian and Lianis Acosta Gomez, stole documents, credit cards and money from the mailboxes of approximately 100 victims.

When they were arrested while trying to flee after robbing several mailboxes in Hialeah, officers found hundreds of envelopes in their vehicle containing mail, cards, social security numbers, sex toys and a gun, which they later confirmed was BB gun.

According to authorities, the gang of thieves made off with about 3,500 documents and $14 over a one-year period.

The defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit mail theft, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

They were sentenced to two years in prison and three years probation, plus 150 hours of community service and must also pay back the $14 stolen from the victims.
