Baton Rouge, La. (First Louisiana) – Four people in the parish of East Baton Rouge have been charged with official formal forms to receive free hunting and fishing licenses intended for disabled veterans.

Department of Wildlife and Fishing in Louisiana said the agents arrested John W. Ballard Jr., 49, from Denam Springs, Brian J. Ballard, 30, from Hammond, and Trevor N. Ballard, 25 years old, from Baton Rouge, and accused them of early public records. The agents also arrested 47 -year -old Kara Meek of Havton and accused her of submitting fake public records.

LDWF found that John and Trevor Ballar have never served in the military, and Brian Ballard, who was in the Louisiana National Guard, is not a disabled veteran.

LDWF said Meek, who works for the Louisiana veterans Department, helped submit false applications, although he knew he was not ranked.

Officials said all four were accepted that they deliberately submit false applications for receiving the free licenses. According to LDWF, they can face five years in prison and a $ 5,000 fine for each crime.
