Four grant fighters qualify for regional; Two fighters reach major stages – localsportsjournal.com

Fremont – Four Grant tigers ended in the top quarter of their respective weights on Saturday in individual regions of Division 3.

The meeting was at Fremont High School.

The tigers were led by senior Alex Rousseau, who finished third with 126 pounds. On the way to his final, Rousseau won his 150th career match to become the fifth tiger in school history to reach this plateau.

Junior Kashton Atwood finished third with 132 pounds. In the final round of comfort, Atwood won his 100th career match.

Junior Cameron Espinosis and a sophomore Malachi Dow hit their tickets for regional, finishing fourth. Espinoza fights 120 pounds and DAW at 113.

With 106 pounds, the freshman Antonio Santana finished fifth and narrowly missed a place in the regions.
