Jacksonville, Florida – A former basketball player at the University of South Carolina is accused of killing her mother and left her in the backyard, wrapped in towels and a blanket, according to Jacksonville’s sheriff in Florida.

Authorities said they were called to the “disturbing scene” of the 15th St. W. in the Midwest area.
They said they had found 51-year-old Erica Winford unanswered, wrapped in a blanket and towels in the backyard.
She had suffered a fireplace wound and was declared dead at home.
28 -year -old Eric Cobb was arrested while trying to leave the home where his mother was found dead, authorities said.
After an interview, the detectives said he had been arrested and charged with second -degree murder.
He is now in custody at Duvall’s County Prison.
The Sheriff’s service said in a Facebook publication: “Cobb, formerly 6 feet-9 former basketball basketball, game for Uconn and the University of South Carolina.”
Cob play in South Carolina for the 2015-16 season.
He was fired by the team in April 2016 after being charged with an attack on a occupied car in a case related to a BB pellet pistol. Click here to read more about this fee.
Cobb was also charged in April 2016 for simply possessing marijuana.
