LAS VEGAS — Former United States President Bill Clinton visited Las Vegas this week, rallying support for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz’s New Way Forward plan.
His visit, which included a plea to Filipino Americans, was intended to encourage Nevadans to vote early.
During a stop Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Red Ribbon Bakeshop at Seafood City Supermarket, a community center for Filipino Americans, Clinton spoke alongside U.S. Rep. Dina Titus.
He praised Harris’ overall strategy to support Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) entrepreneurs, highlighting the small business boom under the Biden-Harris administration. Clinton emphasized the critical role these businesses play in the economy, citing Harris’ commitment to enhancing their success.
“What I’m fighting for is my grandchildren’s future,” Clinton said. “This country cannot thrive if we are focused on division and recriminations instead of unity and solutions. Donald Trump offers no real answers – just finger-pointing. Kamala Harris is the only candidate with practical solutions for everything from the environment to education to helping families put food on the table.”
Clinton also appeared at the Doolittle Community Center, an early voting location, with Sen. Jackie Rosen, and at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in North Las Vegas. At these events, he emphasized the importance of early voting, encouraging attendees to mail in their ballots or vote in person. He warned that under Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, Social Security could run out in six years, a move that would devastate seniors. In contrast, he pointed to Harris’ commitment to strengthening Social Security and Medicare, vital programs for millions of Americans.
The former president’s message resonated with the audience, urging them to spread the word and encourage others to vote. He emphasized that the future of the country depends on participation in the electoral process.
Other notable figures attending the Fil-Am community visit included Nevada State Senator Rochelle Nguyen, Assemblymembers Erica Mosca, Brittney Miller and Ruben D’Silva. Also in attendance was Fil-Am community leader Rosita Lee, former White House Commissioner on President Obama’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Advisory Commission.
As early voting continues, Clinton’s visit underscored the importance of Harris-Waltz’s vision to lower costs for families, make housing more affordable and ensure a brighter future for all Americans.
