Former Bears coach reunites with Matt Eberflus for the 2025 season – Da Windy City

The Bears in Chicago have a brand new coaching staff led by the exciting Ben Johnson as the team tries to turn the 2024 page and build around Caleb Williams. Players look happy with the regime changing, giving fans to be optimistic about what the future may have.

While the organization focuses on the extra -season season, former head coach Matt Eberflus is preparing to serve as the new defense coordinator of Dallas’ cowboys. Bears will certainly not miss Eberflus and his strange management of the game, although he is still respected in many circles around the league.

In fact, Eberflus is simply successful to poaching one of Chicago’s assistants to bring with him to Dallas, reuniting the duo as they try to build a winner with the Cowboys.

According to Todd Archer of ESPN, Carlos Polk is expected to be hired as an assistant coach of special cowboy teams. Initially, he interviewed the position of the special team coordinator, although he would now take the same position he made in 2019.

Polk has been the coach of the special team assistant from 2022. He has spent time with Buccaneers Tampa Bay, San Diego Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars with Chicago and Dallas. He has played in NFL since 2001-2008, starting his career with Chargers before ending with The Cowboys.

Bears are not known to have an exceptional unit for special teams. Continuity is important, although Chicago does not suffer from any huge loss here. Regiment is an Eberflus man, so it’s natural that he chose to remain loyal and go to Dallas. Chicago and the cowboys play each other in 2025, giving the conflict coaching staff the opportunity to fight.

We will see which franchise is winding up in a better position in a year. Based on how bad the Eberflus term has passed, it seems likely that the future is likely to favor bears. While Johnson continues to put his seal on the team, fans should expect more moves in the coming weeks.
