Baton Rouge, La. (BRPRoud) – a former Baton Rouge Bank manager was sentenced to 30 months in a federal prison in connection with a scheme of fraud.

53 -year -old Eric Jason Shust of Plakemin has been convicted of bank fraud and misappropriation. In addition to his sentence, he was ordered to serve two years of supervisory release and pay $ 86,375.89 for restitution.

According to the Ministry of Justice, Schouest has worked as a manager of branches of the Bank regions from 2010 to 2021 at the location of Plank Road. The officials said he used his position of confidence to assign money from clients and deposit them to his personal bank accounts.

The scheme included sending fraudulent emails and forged documents. Doj said Schouest did not assign over $ 250,000 from customer accounts.

A spokesman for the bank of the regions boasts the law enforcement agencies and the justice system for their work in the sentence.
