While November hurricanes may be rarer, they are not impossible. Forecasters are currently looking at the possibility of adding another one to the list this month.
In fact, there is an outside chance that there are two storms developing in the Gulf right now. One disturbance has a very low chance of developing into something, while another is given a 70% or more chance of becoming something. Check out what forecaster Matt Devitt had to say online last night about these disturbances…
In his Friday statement, Devitt added 7 keys to the development. One of them was very important to the people of Louisiana and Texas:
“Don’t stress so early. In the meantime, enjoy the good weather. I’ll keep you posted as needed in the tropics as always, just the facts without the hype. Less than a month until the official end of Hurricane Season is almost over! Thanks everyone, have a great weekend.”
This is very early in the possible development of these systems, so there is no need to panic or stress. But these are things you need to know over the next few days.
Other popular online forecasters also posted about this development. Reid Timmer thinks the recipe shows the potential for a hurricane next week…
Even if this develops into a hurricane, it’s too early to know where the theoretical hurricane will go. So, as Devitt said, don’t stress (yet).
