Ford recalls 240,000 researchers, aviators due to defective seat belt – stick

Ford recalls about 240,000 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVS due to a problem with the seat belt anchors that were incorrectly fixed.

According to the National Motion Safety Administration on the highway, the loose seat belt or the seat belt buckle may not properly limit the occupant during a disaster, increasing the risk of injury.

Ford said he was not familiar with accidents or injury related to defective seat belt assemblies.

The researchers and aviators in question are model years 2020 and 2021. The download includes about 216,000 researchers and 24,000 aviators.

The owners of the vehicles in question are expected to be notified by Ford at the end of March and will be instructed to take their vehicles at a Ford or Lincoln dealer for verification. If the anchor bolts are found to be incorrectly attached, the components will be replaced free of charge.

Owners can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 with a download number of 25S09.

They can also connect to the NHTSA hotline for the NHTSA vehicle safety at 888-327-4236 or go online to NHTSA.gov.
