The community is invited to attend two free recitals in Santa Fe and Los Alamos during the coming week, with the participation of music for the flute and piano. Guest flutist Dr. Jeong Hoon Lee, who is currently based in the area of ​​Dallas-Form Worth, will partner with the pianist Dr. Howon Yang, a resident of Los Alamos.

The first concert will be 5: 30-6pm Friday, February 28, as part of the TGIF concert series at the first Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe on 208 Grant St. in Santa Fe. The program will include Moonshine Ride by S. Kim, a modern new time ballad, as well as the monumental Sonata in C. Franc, a demanding virtuoso romantic masterpiece for both the piano and the flut.

The second concert will be 12-1 hours Wednesday, March 5, as part of the series for the performance of the Los Alamos Day Council at Fuller Lodge in Los Alamos. This program will include the pieces of the previous concert, as well as pieces from Clara Schumann, 19th-The ongoing virtuoso pianist whose career lasted 60 years, and Robert Schumann’s wife.

Lee is an experienced artist, wins 1Holy Place in the international competition of American Protégé and the International Music Competition Golden Classical and has participated in big places such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He is also an active teacher after being at the Dallas College Faculty – Nortlake and the University of Music in North Texas. During his time in northern New Mexico, Lee will also spend time in master classes and workshops with Santa Fe’s Youth Symphony and the Santa Fe High School group.

Yang is based in Los Alamos and enjoys an active career as a teacher and performer. Her debut album starring the music of American composer Harry Boulow was released in January at Navona Records, and she will play a 2nd concert by the Saint-Saens piano with Los Alamos Symphony in April 2025.

Lee and Yang are both graduates of the University of Indiana Music School, and are eagerly awaiting to re -introduce themselves in 11 years. Both concerts are free entrance and are open to the public.
