Flu levels continue to sew in Wisconsin – WSAW

(WSAW) – Flu continues to be the most common cause of Wisconsin respiratory diseases.

Wisconsin’s laboratory monitoring for respiratory viruses has shown that 37% of tested people for respiratory diseases are positive for influenza. The data is from the week ending on February 1st. The Ministry of Health Services reports a very high flu disease. DHS reports that influenza activity is increased based on the emergency room, laboratory tests and wastewater data.

According to CDC, symptoms include fever, cough, headache, muscle pain, sore throat and fatigue. Most people who receive the flu will recover, but some people will develop complications such as pneumonia, which can be life -threatening and lead to death.

In Wisconsin, 32% received at least one dose of the flu vaccine.

For children under 5 years, the activity of RSV is high. The activity of Covid-19 is low.
