Florida’s male tennis bounces with victories against North Carolina Wilmington and FGCU – the independent Aligator in Florida

After three direct games on the road, the Florida Men’s Tennis Team returned on Sunday, beating UNC Wilmington 4-2 before removing the shore of the Florida Bay, 4-1, then.

Weintraub struck in Florida his first single point against Domenech on Court Six. After lagging 2-0, Domenech scored four straight points in Seth one. However, the freshman in Florida roared back with four straight to take the first set 6-4. The second set was all Weintraub, as Gator traveled to win 6-4, 6-1.

The Battle of Ganesan and Senior Uch Nicholson went to three sets of court two. Ganesan quickly grabbed a win with the first set 6-1, but Nicholson won two 6-3. Ganesan fell 5-0 in the final set and could not finish return, since his loss (1-6, 6-3, 6-3) won his first point of the match.

Jefferson’s match No. 106 against Wind of three courts also took three sets. Despite Jefferson’s 6-4 victory in Seth, Senior from North Carolina won the next two sets 6-3, 6-4 to give his second point to UNCW and tie the overall result of the 2-2 match.

Johnson and De Gabriele’s match became an intensive three set as they divided the first two sets. In the end, Gator eventually took out the victory, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, giving Florida a 3-2 edge.

Florida freshman Nils Villard defeated Stefen on the court five in three sets to raise Gators to win. After dropping Seth 7-6 (2), Villard won the next two sets 6-4, 6-3 to seal the victory of 4-2 Florida games.

No. 41 Jin and Humans played the longest singles match on Court One, which eventually turned out to be unfinished in the second set. Gin won the first set 7-5.

Riding Florida’s inertia from his 4-2 victory over UncW, Gators lifted exactly where he stayed in his next race against FGCU. UF freshmen Rafael Nowo and Villard stole a game early against FGCU sophomores Pablo Patersoro and Harry Mihalovski in pairs of three vessels. Gators did not look back from there, taking a decisive 6-3 victory.

Jefferson and Jin broke the sophomores of FGCU Hugo Magnusson and CJ Smith in the fifth match of their double match at COURT ONE. It was exactly what the couple needed to slide to win 6-4 and secure Florida, the point of the pairs.

With the point that has already been glued to the UF, the match of Johnson and Wyntraub against the sophomore Jonathan Baron and Senior Guggliemielm Stefanaci remained unfinished.

Segado kept Gators rolling with his victory in singles in straight sets over Smith on the court five. The Spanisharium dominates, 6-0, 6-1 to give Florida a 2-0 lead.

Florida freshman Francesco Cordova did a quick job of Jr. Stavros Hadjivaravari on Six’s FGCU, helping Gators 3-0 lead with his direct victory (6-0, 6-1).

Jefferson fell to Magnuson in straight sets on the one (6-4, 7-6 (7)), but he didn’t make it easy. Gator forced a 16-point tiebreaker in the second set, but Magnusson won it 9-7 to steal the 7-6 set and give FGCU its first and only point of the match.

Johnson is fighting in his first set against the Baron of Court two. However, the veteran stubbornly, as he runs back into the match and won the next two sets to beat Baron (2-6, 6-3, 6-3), raising Florida to a 4-1 victory over FGCU.

The matches of Ventraub and graduate student Bradley Paliska against Stefanaci and Paterse, respectively, of the courts three and four, were left unfinished in the third set.

Florida coach Adam Steinberg earlier said the UF loss 4-0 from FSU in Talahassi on Friday left a bad taste in the Gators mouth and that they need to come back in action and make the right adjustments.

Today, they did just that, as the team brought incomparable energy to their native court.

Gators will now direct their views of Dallas as they travel to face Southern Methodist University on Friday.
