TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Florida High volleyball team looks set to finish as the top team in Class 3A, and they’re two wins away from doing so.
For the first time since 2011, the Seminoles are back in the state semifinals. If they win on Tuesday, they will play for a state title on Wednesday.
The Seminoles, a team with a new coach and young talent, have maintained a grudge mentality all season, and that won’t change anytime soon.
“We lost some tough games this year, but they learned and grew from it,” said head coach Glynn Barksdale. “I don’t mind going into this tournament as a four seed. I’ll take that and I know they will too. They go to work. They’re going to do everything they can to come out of there with that state championship, that’s down the road.”
Florida High faces Berkley Prep on Tuesday in the 3A state semifinals at 1:00 pm in Winter Haven.
